“Over the last decade or so, we have watched famed Marvel comic book characters come to life on the big screen. Marvel studios has brought about a real life depiction of what some of these beloved characters would look like on an everyday basis with their various super powers. We have seen many successes in the Spider-Man Franchise and X-Men Franchise, but with every success also comes failures. Although many enjoy the movies, some don’t make box office hits, like movies such as DareDevil and the first installment of Hulk. Many people wonder whats next for Marvel Studios as DC comics has also entered the big screen with their adaptations for their comic books.
The answer to the previous statement is simple; The Avengers, which set to release on May 4, 2012 to kick off the summer blockbuster season. Over the last 3 years or so, we have seen huge releases with the likes of Iron Man, a renewed Incredible Hulk, and last year with Thor and Captain America. Each movie has led us to an insight of what each character is all about, and how they came to possess their unique asset. Marvel took an approach to each of these releases that led you all to believe that each movie was going to lead to something bigger. After the ending credits of each movie there is a short 2 minute clip leading into the big release of The Avengers, where Iron Man, Captain America, the Incredible Hulk, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and Nick Fury will join forces to help fight the evil in the world.
Now, being a fan of each one of these movies and the characters, I personally cannot wait until The Avengers comes out in theaters. With an all-star cast this movie has a lot of potential to be a box office hit, as well as a good movie for fans. With this cast, there are a couple of wild card actors that are taking on roles in the movie. Before Thor was released no one had any clue who Chris Hemsworth was and in my personal opinion Marvel could have not picked a more suited actor to take on role of Thor. The other wild card is Mark Ruffalo, who will play Hulk’s alter-ego Bruce Banner. In the most recent Incredible Hulk movie, I thought Edward Norton did a fantastic job as Bruce Banner and I am kind of disappointed that he is not returning for this movie, so that leads to my curiosity on how Ruffalo will do in the role. All in all, I believe that The Avengers will be a huge movie that will hopefully lead into more movies being made and I can’t wait until May rolls around and we are able to see this all-star cast come together on the big screen!
In MARVEL’S THE AVENGERS the world’s greatest Super Heroes assemble when Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans), The Incredible Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) join S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) to protect the world from the dangerous and powerful villain, Loki (Tom Hiddleston).
MARVEL’S THE AVENGERS will be released on May 4, 2012.

By far, DC is just Superman, Green Lantern, Hawkman, and Batman. Marvel has the X-men, The Fantastic Four, Avengers and Im sure Thor can beat Superman; Silver Surfer destroys the Green Lantern; Iron man does it with Hawkman, and Batman is no match for Captain America, so DC is just no match for Marvel..
I disagree. DC maybe no match for Marvel but I believe the movies and I mean the newer movies by DC have been way more legit, entertaining than Marvels past. I don’t see any Marvel movies getting nominated for Oscars… (The Dark Knight)
By the way The Dark Knight Rises will be the best movie ever!
