Every year we choose a non-for-profit organization that has made a huge impact on their community, culture, and surroundings. Sociedad Cultural y Civica La Reforma has done everything right this year and has evolved into one of the elite Latino Groups in the Midwest and we watch it continue to grow. Congratulations to S.C.C.L.R. and their success in 2011.

One of the most important lessons we are taught throughout life is to be proud of, and appreciate who we are and where we come from. On Saturday night, the S.C.C.L.R. did exactly that at the 5th annual Night of Latin Culture. The night was full of rich, cultural pride and excitement for everyone to enjoy. It was not only enjoyable, but also educational. From the art show, where we were able to interact with one another and see art of all different forms, to the walk through of Latin culture by song, dance and poem, there was never a dull moment, or a moment where you couldn’t sense the pride throughout the room. The Latin culture was beautifully portrayed by everyone who graced the stage that night. Looking around the room, you could see the joy this culture has brought to everyone. A huge thanks goes out to the S.C.C.L.R. for bringing everyone together to celebrate the beauty and importance of the Latin culture, and for putting together a show that will have a lasting impact on all who attended.
